SUPT7L, the gene responsible for encoding the STAGA complex 65 subunit gamma, is a human protein. It has been shown to interact with TAF9 and the transcription initiation protein SPT3 homolog.
SUPT7L plays a crucial role in transcriptional regulation as a component of the STAGA complex. This complex acts as a coactivator, enhancing the activity of other proteins involved in gene expression. Specifically, STAGA facilitates the acetylation of histone proteins, a key modification that allows DNA to be more accessible for transcription.
