SUGT1

Description

The SUGT1 (SGT1 homolog, MIS12 kinetochore complex assembly cochaperone) is a protein-coding gene located on chromosome 13.

SUGT1 is a human protein encoded by the SUGT1 gene. It is homologous to the yeast protein SGT1, which is involved in kinetochore function and required for cell cycle transitions. Human SUGT1 likely has similar functions. It has been shown to interact with S100A6.

SUGT1 may be involved in the ubiquitination process, which tags proteins for degradation by the proteasome.

SUGT1 is also known as SGT1.
