STYK1

Description

The STYK1 (serine/threonine/tyrosine kinase 1) is a protein-coding gene located on chromosome 12.

STYK1, a human gene, encodes the enzyme tyrosine-protein kinase STYK1.

STYK1 is a tyrosine protein kinase that has potent transforming abilities across various cell lines. Overexpression of STYK1 can lead to tumor cell invasion and metastasis in distant organs. It is likely that STYK1 activates both MAP kinase and phosphatidylinositol 3'-kinase (PI3K) pathways, contributing to its oncogenic potential.

STYK1 is also known as NOK, SuRTK106.
