STX12

Description

The STX12 (syntaxin 12) is a protein-coding gene located on chromosome 1.

Syntaxin-12 is a protein that in humans is encoded by the STX12 gene.

Syntaxin-12 is a SNARE protein that facilitates the fusion of transport vesicles with target membranes. In collaboration with SNARE STX6, it promotes the movement of vesicles from endosomes to the cell membrane, potentially contributing to the endocytic recycling pathway. It interacts with GRIP1, GRIA2, and NSG1 to regulate the intracellular fate of AMPAR and the sorting of the GRIA2 subunit towards recycling and membrane targeting.

STX12 is also known as STX13, STX14.
