STK19

Description

The STK19 (serine/threonine kinase 19) is a protein-coding gene located on chromosome 6.

The STK19 gene encodes a serine/threonine kinase that predominantly localizes to the nucleus. Its specific function is unknown, but it is possible that phosphorylation of this protein is involved in transcriptional regulation. This gene resides within the major histocompatibility complex (MHC) class III region on chromosome 6 and produces two transcript variants.

Isoform 1 is an inactive serine/threonine-protein kinase (Probable). It may control NRAS activity via an associated kinase (Probable).

STK19 is also known as D6S60, D6S60E, G11, HLA-RP1, RP1.
