STK17A

Description

The STK17A (serine/threonine kinase 17a) is a protein-coding gene located on chromosome 7.

STK17A is a gene that encodes a protein involved in apoptosis. This protein is a member of the DAP kinase-related apoptosis-inducing protein kinase family and is known to be autophosphorylated and found in the nucleus. Its activity has been linked to inducing apoptosis. A recent study suggests that STK17A may play a role in the longevity of centenarians.

STK17A is also known as DRAK1.
