STARD9
Description
The STARD9 (StAR related lipid transfer domain containing 9) is a protein-coding gene located on chromosome 15.
STARD9 acts as a microtubule-dependent motor protein, playing a crucial role in assembling the spindle poles during cell division (mitosis). It also contributes to the stability of the pericentriolar material (PCM), a structure essential for microtubule organization.
STARD9 is also known as KIF16A.
