ST20-MTHFS

Description

The ST20-MTHFS (ST20-MTHFS readthrough) is a protein-coding gene located on chromosome 15.

The ST20-MTHFS fusion gene is a chimeric gene formed by the fusion of the ST20 and MTHFS genes. It encodes a protein that contains both the ST20 and MTHFS domains. The ST20 domain is involved in the regulation of cell growth and differentiation, while the MTHFS domain is involved in the synthesis of tetrahydrofolate, a key cofactor in many metabolic pathways. The fusion of these two domains may lead to altered function of the protein, which could contribute to the development of cancer.
