Description
The SRP19 (signal recognition particle 19) is a protein-coding gene located on chromosome 5.
SRP19 is a component of the signal recognition particle (SRP) complex, a ribonucleoprotein complex. It plays a role in the cotranslational targeting of secretory and membrane proteins to the endoplasmic reticulum (ER). SRP19 directly binds to 7SL RNA and mediates the binding of SRP54 to the SRP complex.
