SRGAP1

Description

The SRGAP1 (SLIT-ROBO Rho GTPase activating protein 1) is a protein-coding gene located on chromosome 12.

SRGAP1 is an enzyme that is encoded by the SRGAP1 gene in humans. It acts as a GTPase-activating protein.

SRGAP1 is a GTPase-activating protein (GAP) for RhoA and Cdc42, small GTPases involved in cell signaling. It plays a role in the repulsive signaling pathway of Robo and Slit proteins during neuronal migration. When working together with CDC42, SRGAP1 contributes to this signaling pathway. Notably, SLIT2, likely through its interaction with ROBO1, enhances the interaction between SRGAP1 and ROBO1, ultimately leading to the inactivation of CDC42.

SRGAP1 is also known as ARHGAP13, NMTC2.
