Description

The SPRR2F (small proline rich protein 2F) is a protein-coding gene located on chromosome 1.

SPRR2F is a protein that helps strengthen the outer layer of skin cells (keratinocytes). It starts inside the cell and then attaches to the cell membrane with the help of a special enzyme (transglutaminase). This process creates a tough, protective layer beneath the cell membrane.
