SPHKAP

Description

The SPHKAP (SPHK1 interactor, AKAP domain containing) is a protein-coding gene located on chromosome 2.

SPHKAP is an anchoring protein that preferentially binds to the type I regulatory subunit of c-AMP-dependent protein kinase (PKA type I). This binding targets PKA type I to specific subcellular locations. SPHKAP might play a role in connecting cAMP and sphingosine signaling pathways. It also regulates the activity of SPHK1.

SPHKAP is also known as SKIP.
