SPC24

Description

The SPC24 (SPC24 component of NDC80 kinetochore complex) is a protein-coding gene located on chromosome 19.

SPC24 is a protein that in humans is encoded by the SPC24 gene.

SPC24 plays a crucial role in chromosome segregation and spindle checkpoint activity as a component of the NDC80 complex. It contributes to kinetochore integrity and the organization of stable microtubule binding sites in the kinetochore. Additionally, the NDC80 complex enhances the affinity of the SKA1 complex for microtubules and facilitates tracking depolymerizing microtubules.

SPC24 is also known as SPBC24.
