SOX2-OT

Description

The SOX2-OT (SOX2 overlapping transcript) is a ncRNA gene located on chromosome 3.

SOX2-OT is a long non-coding RNA (lncRNA) located on chromosome 3q26.31. It is transcribed from the opposite strand of the SOX2 gene, which encodes a transcription factor that plays a crucial role in embryonic development and the maintenance of stem cell pluripotency. SOX2-OT has been shown to be involved in the regulation of gene expression, and it has been implicated in various biological processes, including cell proliferation, differentiation, and apoptosis.

SOX2-OT is a long non-coding RNA (lncRNA) that has been implicated in the regulation of gene expression and cellular processes. Studies have shown that SOX2-OT is involved in the regulation of pluripotency and self-renewal in embryonic stem cells, and it has also been linked to cancer development and progression. The exact mechanism by which SOX2-OT exerts its effects is still being investigated, but it is thought to act as a molecular sponge, sequestering microRNAs and other regulatory molecules, or as a scaffold, bringing together different proteins to form functional complexes.

SOX2-OT is also known as NCRNA00043, SOX2OT.
