SNX16

Description

The SNX16 (sorting nexin 16) is a protein-coding gene located on chromosome 8.

SNX16 is involved in various intracellular trafficking processes, including protein transport from early to late endosomes, protein delivery to the lysosome, and the degradation of EGFR after EGF signaling. It also contributes to the intracellular transport of vesicular stomatitis virus nucleocapsids from the endosome to the cytoplasm. These functions have been experimentally demonstrated (PubMed:12813048, PubMed:15951806).

SNX16 is also known as -.
