SNAPC4

Description

The SNAPC4 (small nuclear RNA activating complex polypeptide 4) is a protein-coding gene located on chromosome 9.

SNAPC4, encoded by the SNAPC4 gene in humans, is a protein that forms part of the snRNA-activating protein complex. It interacts with other subunits of this complex, including SNAPC1, POU2F1, and SNAPC2.

SNAPC4 is part of the SNAPc complex which is essential for the transcription of both RNA polymerase II and III small-nuclear RNA genes. It binds to the proximal sequence element (PSE), a non-TATA-box basal promoter element common to these two types of genes. It recruits TBP and BRF2 to the U6 snRNA TATA box.

SNAPC4 is also known as NEDRSO, PTFalpha, SNAP190.
