SNAP47

Description

The SNAP47 (synaptosome associated protein 47) is a protein-coding gene located on chromosome 1.

SNAP47, also known as SVAP1, HEL170, ESFI5812, and HEL-S-290, is a human protein encoded by the SNAP47 gene located on chromosome 1. It is a member of the SNAP protein family, which are t-SNARE proteins involved in vesicle fusion. The SNARE complex mediates vesicle fusion by bringing the vesicle and target membrane together. SNAP47 is expressed ubiquitously in testis, ovary, and many other tissues. It has been linked to diseases such as non-small cell lung cancer and schizophrenia.

SNAP47 plays a role in intracellular membrane fusion, a process essential for the movement of molecules within cells.

SNAP47 is also known as C1orf142, ESFI5812, HEL-S-290, HEL170, SNAP-47, SVAP1.
