SLITRK1 : SLIT and NTRK like family member 1

Description

The SLITRK1 (SLIT and NTRK like family member 1) is a protein-coding gene located on chromosome 13.

The SLITRK1 gene provides instructions for making a protein involved in brain development. This protein helps guide the growth of nerve cell extensions, allowing them to communicate with other cells.

SLITRK1 plays a role in synaptogenesis, promoting the formation of excitatory synapses. It also enhances the growth of neuronal dendrites.

SLITRK1 is also known as LRRC12, TTM.
