SLC2A14

Description

The SLC2A14 (solute carrier family 2 member 14) is a protein-coding gene located on chromosome 12.

SLC2A14, or Solute carrier family 2 (facilitated glucose transporter), member 14, is a protein encoded by the SLC2A14 gene in humans. It belongs to the glucose transporter (GLUT) family, which are highly conserved integral membrane proteins responsible for transporting hexoses like glucose and fructose into various mammalian cells. The expression of GLUTs is specific to different tissues and cell types.

SLC2A14, also known as Glucose transporter type 14, facilitates the movement of glucose and dehydroascorbate across the cell membrane.

SLC2A14 is also known as GLUT14, SLC2A3P3.
