SIAH3

Description

The SIAH3 (siah E3 ubiquitin protein ligase family member 3) is a protein-coding gene located on chromosome 13.

SIAH3 acts as a negative regulator of PRKN (Parkin) translocation to damaged mitochondria. This occurs by destabilizing PINK1 (PTEN-induced kinase 1) protein, thereby preventing PRKN from targeting dysfunctional and depolarized mitochondria.

SIAH3 is also known as -.
