SHISA9

Description

The SHISA9 (shisa family member 9) is a protein-coding gene located on chromosome 16.

SHISA9 regulates short-term neuronal synaptic plasticity in the dentate gyrus. It interacts with AMPA receptors (ionotropic glutamate receptors) in synaptic spines and enhances AMPA receptor desensitization at excitatory synapses.

SHISA9 is also known as CKAMP44.
