SHISA2
Description
The SHISA2 (shisa family member 2) is a protein-coding gene located on chromosome 13.
SHISA2 plays a crucial role in the development of the presomitic mesoderm, the tissue that gives rise to the vertebrae and ribs, by carefully regulating the levels of both FGF and WNT signaling pathways. This fine-tuning ensures proper cell maturation and development of these structures.
SHISA2 is also known as C13orf13, PRO28631, TMEM46, WGAR9166, bA398O19.2, hShisa.
