SEC22A

Description

The SEC22A (SEC22 homolog A, vesicle trafficking protein) is a protein-coding gene located on chromosome 3.

SEC22A is a human gene that encodes a protein involved in vesicle trafficking. The protein is part of the SEC22 family and shares similarities with its rat counterpart. It is thought to play a role in the early stages of the secretory pathway. The gene may use multiple poly A sites.

May play a role in the movement of vesicles between the endoplasmic reticulum (ER) and the Golgi apparatus.

SEC22A is also known as SEC22L2.
