SCRT1

Description

The SCRT1 (scratch family transcriptional repressor 1) is a protein-coding gene located on chromosome 8.

SCRT1 is a transcriptional repressor that binds to the E-box motif CAGGTG. This binding allows it to modulate the activity of basic helix-loop-helix (bHLH) transcription factors, which are crucial for neuronal differentiation.

SCRT1 is also known as SCRT, ZNF898.
