SCRN1

Description

The SCRN1 (secernin 1) is a protein-coding gene located on chromosome 7.

The SCRN1 gene provides instructions for making a protein called secernin-1. This protein is found in humans.

This gene plays a crucial role in the release of substances from mast cells, a type of immune cell. It enhances the amount of substances released and makes these cells more responsive to calcium signals, which trigger the release process.

SCRN1 is also known as SES1.
