SCAMP3

Description

The SCAMP3 (secretory carrier membrane protein 3) is a protein-coding gene located on chromosome 1.

SCAMP3, encoded by the SCAMP3 gene, is a member of the SCAMP family of proteins, which are involved in secretory carrier membrane transport. SCAMPs function as carriers in the post-Golgi recycling pathways, transporting molecules back to the cell surface. The SCAMP family members are highly similar and often expressed together, suggesting that they may function at the same location during vesicular transport. SCAMP3 has been shown to interact with the protein NEDD4.

SCAMP3 is also known as C1orf3.
