SBK3

Description

The SBK3 (SH3 domain binding kinase family member 3) is a protein-coding gene located on chromosome 19.

SBK3 is an enzyme that is encoded by the SBK3 gene (also known as SGK110) in humans. It belongs to the serine/threonine protein kinase family. SBK3 protein exhibits transferase activity, specifically phosphotransferase activity, and tyrosine kinase activity. It is conserved among mammals and has two paralogs: SBK1 and SBK2. The SBK3 gene is located on chromosome 19 in humans (19q13.42) on the minus strand. Its reference isoform spans 4,985 bases. Neighboring genes include SBK2, SSC5D, ZNF579, and FIZ1. SBK3 has five exons, but only four are included in the final mRNA transcript. It has one isoform besides its typical transcript. The reference isoform excludes exon 2, while isoform X1 excludes exon 1.

SBK3 is also known as SGK110.
