Description

The SAT2 (spermidine/spermine N1-acetyltransferase family member 2) is a protein-coding gene located on chromosome 17.

SAT2 is an enzyme responsible for maintaining a balanced level of glutamine and glutamate, which is critical for retrograde signaling through dendritic release of the neurotransmitter glutamate.

SAT2 is also known as SSAT-2, SSAT2.
