RPUSD3

Description

The RPUSD3 (RNA pseudouridine synthase D3) is a protein-coding gene located on chromosome 3.

RPUSD3, also known as RNA pseudouridylate synthase domain-containing protein 3, catalyzes the conversion of uridine to pseudouridine (pseudouridylation) in specific mitochondrial mRNAs (mt-mRNAs). This modification is crucial for the translation of these mRNAs. RPUSD3 acts at position 390 in the COXI mt-mRNA and positions 697-699 in the COXIII mt-mRNA. As part of a functional protein-RNA module, which includes RCC1L, NGRN, RPUSD3, RPUSD4, TRUB2, FASTKD2, and 16S mitochondrial ribosomal RNA (16S mt-rRNA), RPUSD3 regulates the abundance of 16S mt-rRNA and might be involved in mitochondrial ribosome biogenesis.

RPUSD3 is also known as -.
