RPS10-NUDT3

Description

The RPS10-NUDT3 (RPS10-NUDT3 readthrough) is a protein-coding gene located on chromosome 6.

The RPS10-NUDT3 fusion gene is formed by a chromosomal translocation, creating a chimeric protein with components from both ribosomal protein S10 (RPS10) and nucleoside diphosphate-linked moiety X-type motif 3 (NUDT3). This fusion protein is linked to the development of certain cancers, especially acute myeloid leukemia (AML). The combination of RPS10 and NUDT3 sequences alters the function of both original proteins, potentially leading to aberrant cellular processes and uncontrolled cell growth.

The RPS10-NUDT3 fusion gene, resulting from a chromosomal translocation, produces a chimeric protein with features from both ribosomal protein S10 (RPS10) and nucleoside diphosphate-linked moiety X-type motif 3 (NUDT3). This fusion protein is implicated in the pathogenesis of certain cancers, particularly acute myeloid leukemia (AML). The fusion of RPS10 and NUDT3 alters the normal function of both proteins, potentially leading to aberrant cellular processes and uncontrolled cell growth.
