RPP21

Description

The RPP21 (ribonuclease P/MRP subunit p21) is a protein-coding gene located on chromosome 6.

RPP21 is a component of ribonuclease P (RNase P), a crucial ribonucleoprotein complex involved in the maturation of transfer RNA (tRNA) molecules. RNase P precisely cleaves the 5'-ends of tRNA precursors, generating functional tRNA molecules essential for protein synthesis.

RPP21 is also known as C6orf135, CAT60.
