RNF125

Description

The RNF125 (ring finger protein 125) is a protein-coding gene located on chromosome 18.

RNF125 is a gene that encodes an enzyme called E3 ubiquitin-protein ligase. This enzyme contains a RING finger domain, which is involved in protein ubiquitination. RNF125 is believed to play a role in T-cell signaling, potentially acting as a positive regulator.

RNF125 is an E3 ubiquitin ligase that regulates the degradation of various proteins, including RIGI, MAVS/IPS1, IFIH1/MDA5, JAK1, and p53/TP53. It acts as a negative regulator of type I interferon production by targeting RIGI for ubiquitination and degradation. Additionally, it promotes the degradation of p53/TP53 and JAK1. Conversely, RNF125 plays a positive role in T-cell activation.

RNF125 is also known as TNORS, TRAC-1, TRAC1.
