RFTN2

Description

The RFTN2 (raftlin family member 2) is a protein-coding gene located on chromosome 2.

Raftlin-2 plays a crucial role in the immune response by facilitating the internalization of Toll-like receptor 4 (TLR4) in dendritic cells. This process is triggered by bacterial lipopolysaccharide (LPS) stimulation and relies on clathrin-mediated endocytosis. The internalization of TLR4 leads to the activation of TICAM1 signaling, ultimately resulting in the production of interferon beta (IFNB1). Furthermore, Raftlin-2 may regulate signaling pathways initiated by B-cell antigen receptors.

RFTN2 is also known as C2orf11, Raftlin-2.
