RFPL1

Description

The RFPL1 (ret finger protein like 1) is a protein-coding gene located on chromosome 22.

RFPL1 plays a key role in regulating the transition from the G2 phase to the M phase of the cell cycle. It appears to do this by promoting the degradation of the proteins cyclin B1 and CDK1 via the proteasome. This degradation prevents the buildup of these proteins during interphase, ultimately preventing premature entry into mitosis.

RFPL1 is also known as RNF78.
