REEP3

Description

The REEP3 (receptor accessory protein 3) is a protein-coding gene located on chromosome 10.

REEP3 is a microtubule-binding protein essential for accurate cell division and the reformation of the nuclear envelope after cell division. It plays a crucial role in separating the endoplasmic reticulum (ER) from chromosomes during mitosis, preventing interference with proper chromosome segregation. This likely occurs through the removal of ER membrane from metaphase chromosomes.

REEP3 is also known as C10orf74, Yip2b.
