RASGRP3

Description

The RASGRP3 (RAS guanyl releasing protein 3) is a protein-coding gene located on chromosome 2.

RASGRP3 is a human gene that encodes Ras guanyl-releasing protein 3. RAS proteins are GTPases involved in signal transduction, switching between inactive GDP-bound and active GTP-bound states. Ras guanyl-releasing protein 3 acts as a GEF, promoting the acquisition of GTP and maintaining the active GTP-bound state of Ras proteins. GEFs like RASGRP3 are crucial for linking cell surface receptors to Ras activation.

RasGRP3 acts as a guanine nucleotide exchange factor (GEF) for both Ras and Rap1 proteins.

RASGRP3 is also known as GRP3.
