RASD2
Description
The RASD2 (RASD family member 2) is a protein-coding gene located on chromosome 22.
RASD2 is a gene that encodes a Ras-related protein, Rhes, primarily produced in the striatum. Rhes binds to GTP and possesses intrinsic GTPase activity. It belongs to the Ras superfamily of small GTPases. Its precise function remains unknown, but it's likely involved in signal transduction cascades, as most striatum-specific mRNAs encode components of these cascades.
RASD2 is also known as Rhes, TEM2.
