RANBP10

Description

The RANBP10 (RAN binding protein 10) is a protein-coding gene located on chromosome 16.

RANBP10, also known as Ran-binding protein 10, is a protein that may act as an adapter protein to couple membrane receptors to intracellular signaling pathways. It is a core component of the CTLH E3 ubiquitin-protein ligase complex, which selectively accepts ubiquitin from UBE2H and mediates ubiquitination and subsequent proteasomal degradation of the transcription factor HBP1. RANBP10 enhances dihydrotestosterone-induced transactivation activity of AR and dexamethasone-induced transactivation activity of NR3C1, but it does not affect estrogen-induced transactivation. It also acts as a guanine nucleotide exchange factor (GEF) for RAN GTPase and may play an essential role in hemostasis and maintaining microtubule dynamics with respect to platelet shape and function.

RANBP10 is also known as -.
