RAET1G
Description
The RAET1G (retinoic acid early transcript 1G) is a protein-coding gene located on chromosome 6.
RAET1G is a cell surface glycoprotein encoded by the RAET1G gene located on chromosome 6. It is related to MHC class I molecules but is not located within the MHC locus. RAET1G consists of an external α1α2 domain, a transmembrane segment, and a C-terminal cytoplasmic tail. It functions as a stress-induced ligand for NKG2D receptors.
Isoform 1 of RAET1G binds to and activates the KLRK1/NKG2D receptor, triggering natural killer cell cytotoxicity.
RAET1G is also known as ULBP5.
