RAB39A
Description
The RAB39A (RAB39A, member RAS oncogene family) is a protein-coding gene located on chromosome 11.
RAB39A plays a role in the maturation and acidification of phagosomes that engulf pathogens, such as Staphylococcus aureus and Mycobacterium tuberculosis. It is involved in vesicular trafficking and the fusion of phagosomes with lysosomes. RAB39A negatively regulates LPS-induced autophagosome formation in macrophages, potentially by interacting with PI3K. It may also be involved in multiple neurite formation.
