PYDC1

Description

The PYDC1 (pyrin domain containing 1) is a protein-coding gene located on chromosome 16.

PYDC1 interacts with PYCARD/ASC and regulates its ability to work with MEFV/pyrin and NLRP3/cryopyrin in activating NF-kappa-B and pro-caspase-1. It reduces the kinase activity of the NF-kappa-B inhibitor kinase (IKK) complex, the expression of NF-kappa-B-inducible genes, and inhibits NF-kappa-B activation triggered by cytokines and LPS.

PYDC1 is also known as ASC2, POP1, PYC1, cPOP1.
