PTPN3

Description

The PTPN3 (protein tyrosine phosphatase non-receptor type 3) is a protein-coding gene located on chromosome 9.

Tyrosine-protein phosphatase non-receptor type 3 is an enzyme encoded by the PTPN3 gene in humans. It belongs to the protein tyrosine phosphatase (PTP) family, which are signaling molecules involved in regulating cell growth, differentiation, mitotic cycle, and oncogenic transformation. PTPN3 contains a C-terminal PTP domain and an N-terminal domain similar to the band 4.1 superfamily of cytoskeletal-associated proteins. P97, a cell cycle regulator involved in membrane functions, is a substrate of this PTP. PTPN3 interacts with and is regulated by adaptor protein 14-3-3 beta.

PTPN3 is also known as PTP-H1, PTPH1.
