PTP4A3

Description

The PTP4A3 (protein tyrosine phosphatase 4A3) is a protein-coding gene located on chromosome 8.

PTP4A3 (Protein tyrosine phosphatase type IVA 3) is an enzyme encoded by the PTP4A3 gene in humans. It belongs to a class of prenylated protein tyrosine phosphatases (PTPs) that are known to regulate various cellular processes. PTP4A3 contains a PTP domain and a C-terminal prenylation motif, suggesting its association with the cell membrane. Overexpression of PTP4A3 has been shown to inhibit angiotensin-II induced calcium mobilization and promote cell growth in mammalian cells. Two alternative splice variants of PTP4A3 exist.

PTP4A3 is also known as PRL-3, PRL-R, PRL3.
