PSPC1

Description

The PSPC1 (paraspeckle component 1) is a protein-coding gene located on chromosome 13.

PSPC1, also known as paraspeckle protein 1, regulates gene transcription, circadian rhythm, and innate immunity. It cooperates with NONO and SFPQ to regulate androgen receptor-mediated gene transcription. PSPC1 binds to poly(A), poly(G), and poly(U) RNA homopolymers and represses the transcriptional activator activity of the CLOCK-BMAL1 heterodimer. PSPC1 is essential for the formation of nuclear paraspeckles alongside NONO. PSPC1 forms part of the HDP-RNP complex, which regulates DNA virus-mediated innate immune response by serving as a platform for IRF3 phosphorylation and subsequent innate immune response activation through the cGAS-STING pathway.

PSPC1 is also known as PSP1.
