PSD4

Description

The PSD4 (pleckstrin and Sec7 domain containing 4) is a protein-coding gene located on chromosome 2.

PSD4 acts as a guanine nucleotide exchange factor (GEF) for ADP-ribosylation factor (ARF) proteins, specifically ARF6 and ARL14/ARF7. Its activation of ARL14 plays a crucial role in regulating the movement of MHC class II-containing vesicles along the actin cytoskeleton within dendritic cells. Furthermore, PSD4 is implicated in membrane recycling processes. Its interactions extend to several phosphatidylinositol phosphate species, including phosphatidylinositol 3,4-bisphosphate, phosphatidylinositol 3,5-bisphosphate, and phosphatidylinositol 4,5-bisphosphate.

PSD4 is also known as EFA6B, TIC.
