PRSS30P

Description

The PRSS30P (serine protease 30, pseudogene) is a pseudo gene located on chromosome 16.

PRSS30P is a pseudogene located on chromosome 19. It is a non-functional copy of the PRSS30 gene, which encodes a serine protease. Although PRSS30P shares significant homology with PRSS30, it contains mutations that disrupt its enzymatic activity.

The precise function of PRSS30P remains unknown. Due to its structural similarity to serine proteases, it is likely involved in proteolytic processes. However, experimental evidence is needed to confirm its specific activity and biological role.

PRSS30P is also known as Disp, TMPRSS8, TMPRSS8P.
