PRR14

Description

The PRR14 (proline rich 14) is a protein-coding gene located on chromosome 16.

PRR14 plays a role in attaching peripheral heterochromatin to the nuclear lamina during interphase, possibly through its interaction with CBX5/HP1 alpha. It might also be involved in reattaching heterochromatin to the nuclear lamina at the end of mitosis. PRR14 promotes myoblast differentiation during skeletal myogenesis, potentially by stimulating MyoD activity via binding to CBX5/HP1 alpha. It is involved in the positive regulation of the PI3K-Akt-mTOR signaling pathway and cell proliferation, likely through its interaction with GRB2.

PRR14 is also known as -.
