PRAM1
Description
The PRAM1 (PML-RARA regulated adaptor molecule 1) is a protein-coding gene located on chromosome 19.
PRAM1, or PML-RARA-regulated adapter molecule 1, is a protein produced from the PRAM1 gene in humans. Its function is similar to FYB/SLAP-130, an adaptor protein involved in signaling through the T cell receptor. PRAM1 is expressed and regulated during normal myelopoiesis. Its expression is stimulated by retinoic acid and suppressed by PML-RARalpha, a fusion protein formed from promyelocytic leukemia (PML) and the retinoic acid receptor-alpha (RARalpha). PRAM1 has been shown to interact with TRIM27.
PRAM1 may play a role in the differentiation of myeloid cells and in integrin signaling within neutrophils. It binds to PtdIns(4)P.
PRAM1 is also known as PML-RAR, PRAM-1.
