PPP6R1

Description

The PPP6R1 (protein phosphatase 6 regulatory subunit 1) is a protein-coding gene located on chromosome 19.

PPP6R1 is a regulatory subunit of protein phosphatase 6 (PP6). It might act as a scaffolding subunit for PP6, supporting its activity. PPP6R1 is crucial in the dephosphorylation of NFKBIE, a protein that inhibits the NF-kB pathway, by PP6. This dephosphorylation event prevents the degradation of NFKBIE in response to TNF-alpha, ultimately maintaining the NF-kB pathway's activity.

PPP6R1 is also known as KIAA1115, PP6R1, SAP190, SAPS1.
