PPIL3
Description
The PPIL3 (peptidylprolyl isomerase like 3) is a protein-coding gene located on chromosome 2.
PPIL3 is an enzyme encoded by the PPIL3 gene in humans. It belongs to the cyclophilin family, which catalyzes the cis-trans isomerization of peptidylprolyl imide bonds in oligopeptides. Cyclophilins are thought to act as catalysts or molecular chaperones in protein folding events. Multiple transcript variants exist, some of which encode different isoforms.
PPIL3 is also known as CYPJ.
